Book Review: Passion (Fallen #3) by Lauren Kate

Hello my bookish peeps

Are you ready for the next review in this favourite series of mine?? I decided to read this series for a few reasons, firstly I have been wanting to re-read this series for a while as I adore the love story between Daniel and Luce, plus a few of the other characters. And secondly I needed something light and familiar to read while I had so much on my plate in the other areas of my life.

If you missed my other reviews check them out here: Fallen + Torment

* What it's about *

‘Every single lifetime, I'll choose you. Just as you have chosen me. Forever.’

Luce would die for Daniel. And she has. Over and over again. Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone. But perhaps it doesn’t need to be that way . . . Luce is certain that something – or someone – in a past life can help her in her present one. So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime . . . going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel . . . and finally unlock the key to making their love last.

Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are as frantic as Daniel. He chases Luce through their shared pasts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history. Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames . . . forever.

* My thoughts *

Imagine travelling back in time witnessing your eternal love with your soul mate from every angle. I don't remember how much I enjoyed this book the first time around, but I do know I adored it this time around!! Maybe it has to do with some of my travels over the past few years and understanding Love on a different level than before when I was younger.

In general I appreciated the story and way it was structured so much more. I loved travelling from culture to culture and time period to time period.

Luce and Daniel's love continues to shine and LK definitely makes the point of why the struggle and war is worth it.

Bill the gargoyle annoyed me so much, but I guess that is what his character is supposed to do being the baddy and all that.

As always I wish we had a little more Cam, but I love how much we got to be inside Daniel's head and see what he endured through it all.

At times Luce was a bit dramatic for me, but I guess when you trying to understand something bigger than yourself it can be overwhelming and we can make those irrational decision.

I think the one part that stood out for me, which I might have overlooked last time was the scene of Roland's speech at the end that really had my heart aching for him and Arianne.

Overall I loved this book. I am so glad I picked up this series and can't wait to read Rapture and then the 2 spin off books!!

  1. "Luce was a bit dramatic" um yeah that's all I remember from these books. Still loved it back then though!

    1. I do agree that she is, but once we get down to the reasoning it makes a bit more sense :)
